Gender differentiation based on colour codes:

Ladies' Home Journal article in June 1918 said, "The generally accepted rule is pink for the boys, and blue for the girls. In the 1940s manufacturers settled on pink for girls and blue for boys, so Baby Boomers were raised with wearing the two colors.

This article questions the validity of colour code based gender differentiation. Why is gender differentiation based on colour? The reason behind pink and blue deciding between a boy and girl? The pink and blue colour codes deciding gender is definitely not biological! It is conventional!

My question is why should sex determination be driven by pre set notions of colour codes?.The biasedness of the pink- blue colour is also questionable. If colour determines sex,why doesn't other colours red, green, yellow etc determine that?

I definitely disagree with the colour codes determining sex! These are just conventions society sets to determine the two sexes!I fully disagree with the need to approve of colour codes behind determination of sex.Few researchers have suggested the need for neutral colour code for sex determination.I support this move. What about you?
